IMO: one of the most significance of UFO denial is to protect the weak minded and uneducated population; which is most of the people on Earth. Just imagine if the truth is told about UFO…most religions (and yes i’m talking about Christians) will break down like glass and people will go nuts and nothing can control those who have no hope in life…no hell nor heaven to go after death.
@heaven7valley Any government or agency that can have a relationship with an alien species can get incredible advantages over those who do not. Also, Orson Welles proved back in the early days of radio beyond a doubt that humans were not “ready” for alien contact. Authority does not change their stance quickly once they have adapted one. Another thing is the religious implications it would have and the chaos they fear as a consequence. I`d say there are many reasons, albeit not very good ones.

We see solar systems forming, ours formed 4.5 billions years ago. Others have come and gone. Imagine a race thousand or million years technology advanced than ours. They could go from galaxy to galaxy far as we know. So yes with 200 billion stars in our galaxy with possibility of life giving planets of unknown #’s, existance of other beings goes without saying. When and how the masses are informed I can only guess. But alien life forms have been around longer than man himself has existed.
